The purpose of this qualification is to equip learners for the world of work in radio broadcasting. The course prepares you for roles in research, operation of studio equipment, producing all formats from features to music shows, scriptwriting, interview techniques and a host of vital radio roles. Above all it provides access to formal qualification.
Classes are scheduled 5 days per week (Full Time),and Saturday for Part-time Classes
in the course of the Short Programme , you will be required to write Summative tests, Practically set up basic Sound Equipment, Mix & Master Sound recordings in the Live & studio Environment.
Pre requisites: The following learning is assumed
to be in place before enrolling
Language and Communication competence at NQF 4
Mathematical Literacy at NQF 4
Computer Literacy at NQF 1
Planning and Conducting Research
Operating within legislative frameworks within radio sector
Building a resource network for radio production
Generating and pitching ideas for broadcast
Writing scripts for radio
Producing “live” and “studio recorded” programs
Operating studio and field recording and production equipment
